This magnificent initiative was created by the British film director Jeremy Gilley, proving all those wrong, who fall in despair over the state of our world, and not becoming creative by finding ways in which to help, believing that no “one individual” is capable of changing anything. This is a dangerous psychological trap we tend to fall into, when “forgetting” the underlying link we all share with our fellow Humans – a trap, being utilized by those who came to destroy and divide, rather than to heal and unite.
At times it does seem that we are doomed to walk the path of life on our own, as solitary sufferers in a world of neglected souls, a world, the condition of which is a precise reflection of the state that our collective Human mind is in, a world, in which conflicting energies constantly rage against each other, making us (seemingly) drift apart, thus allowing our souls to fall asleep. --- But wake up! To create a choir every voice is needed. To write a symphony every single note is important and necessary. Was not Jesus “one individual”, was not Martin Luther King “one individual”, was not Gandhi “one individual”? Did not all those individuals, unwilling to succumb to narrow-minded materialism, instead fighting for the cause of Love, start out on their own? And yet, in a broader historical context, over time they have in fact formed a timeless “Army in Spirit”, which we all should join in order to heal this world, rather than damage it further. This is the task we all share, which therefore unites us already! – (The task especially for those who seek and cannot find their personal “purpose in life”).
This is the deeper meaning of the global challenge facing us: To grow together through the need to work together in a true global sense, in order to overcome the truly global problems we share in this world. Let us not forget: Peace is not a “final goal” in itself, but a prerequisite, and thus only a first step on the way to a happy world society one day. To heal this world in a combined effort is the purpose we all have in common, regardless of race, gender, religion or age - presenting us (for the first time in history) with a truly world-wide challenge (and at the same time opportunity) to create a world as it was meant to be, a United World in the true sense of the word, in which ONE Humankind exists in ONENESS with itself and Creation.
Please support this unique initiative in any way You can. Presenting the countries taking part in this year’s event on the PEACE ONE DAY website, Mr. Gilley asks in particular for help regarding a few countries, not yet on the list. (A list, growing with astounding speed). >> Unite The World
"We must make every effort for the promotion of peace and inner values. I fully support Peace One Day" His Holiness, The Dalai Lama, Nobel Peace Laureate
"I think this is a great idea. Any moment where there is a day or a week that we can give the combatants to pause, to think, and reflect on what they are doing to their own people and to the environment will be a great achievement and I will support it 100%... individuals can make a difference and if each of us did our bit collectively we will make a major contribution."
Secretary-General United Nations Kofi Annan
"If you build a house you start with one brick. If we want to build peace why not start with one day... and that day has arrived."
Imagine a beautiful orchard, abound with trees bearing fruit. As the sun takes his course and the weathers do their work, the fruit mature, being found in all states of development imaginable. Some may thrive to sublime perfection, to Man and Creation's delight - nourishing us all, thus passing on the radiant force they have absorbed in a lifetime and beyond, from the elements and age-old experience. A feast, both earthly and divine will be held at their appearance and harvest. It is the Essence bearing fruit... Some may not grow to ripeness but stagnate, be it from bad seed or bad soil or a location in a sunless valley or a waterless fallow. Those fruits will be picked merely to still the hunger of the many, as they mainly carry the power of the soil. Some fruits may wither upon conception, deprived of the delights of maturity. They fall un-plucked, the seed of another chance to come, soon buried by leaves and earth in a temporary grave. They came to live on future promise and die on failings of the past. All fruits within the boundaries of the orchard have a clear and distinct end in life, although most have forgotten about it, now encaged within the requirements of physical survival - oblivious of the very seed that brought them into existence and keeps them alive after being born. This core is buried under legions of shells of personal history, leaving the skin as the ambassador of a whole array of fruity personal aspects, which form what we call the complete personal Being. However, nothing of this takes away from the beauty of the orchard, with its boundless fertility, which only is what it is by means of the diversity and development of the fruits growing within its prolific boundaries. Every single fruit in this orchard is essential to make it a truly fruitful place...
“Let us distinguish between “Feeling” and “Emotion”. Feeling is an inherent part of our human makeup as children of this Creation, whereas Emotion is an altogether more “mechanical” (and psychologically conditioned) affair. Some people with a lot of feeling might seem calm and detached on the outside, while being warm and compassionate inside, whereas others with lots of emotion might seem lively and “fiery” on the surface, while being completely cold inside, which means in terms of substance.
We express our “deepest feelings” towards a suffering fellow human, but would we express our “deepest emotions”? A guitarist displays “Feeling”, when playing a solo, which touches us, but where does “Emotion” leave us where Art is concerned? We love God, Creation and Nature from the bottom of our Heart (which is the abode of our Feelings), but no emotion, however “deeply felt”, will ever come close to the core of our existence, or even touch the very source of the Divine Passion we are capable of as Human Beings and the Principle of Love our human existence is rooted in. So trust Your feelings, but be aware of Your emotions, which means: Trust Yourself (in a timeless sense), but beware of Your Psyche (and therefore Your accidental individual features within one life)."
To me, Goethe was (IS) one of the greatest poets who ever lived, along with Dante and Shakespeare.
Goethe was the first author I really became “hooked on”, so when I was 18 or so, I ventured to read ALL of his writings – an undertaking, which is still ongoing, as he wrote a vast amount of incredible literature. In any case, it was at that time when I began to take up writing, my own thoughts as well as my first “poems”, which only much later began to take their own individual shape.
He also “introduced” me to the philosophy of PANTHEISM (Spinoza, Stoicism etc.), which I always deemed one of the most universal (and comprehensible) “religions”, reflections of which can be found in virtually all “established” forms of worship. Here is just a little, but most beautiful account of Goethe’s encounter with Nature (from “The Sorrows of Young Werther”):
A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring, which I enjoy with my whole heart. I am alone, and feel the charm of existence in this spot, which was created for the bliss of souls like mine. I am so happy, my dear friend, so absorbed in the exquisite sense of mere tranquil existence, that I neglect my talents. I should be incapable of drawing a single stroke at the present moment; and yet I feel that I never was a greater artist than now. When, while the lovely valley teems with vapour around me, and the meridian sun strikes the upper surface of the impenetrable foliage of my trees, and but a few stray gleams steal into the inner sanctuary, I throw myself down among the tall grass by the trickling stream; and, as I lie close to the earth, a thousand unknown plants are noticed by me: when I hear the buzz of the little world among the stalks, and grow familiar with the countless indescribable forms of the insects and flies, then I feel the presence of the Almighty, who formed us in his own image, and the breath of that universal love which bears and sustains us, as it floats around us in an eternity of bliss; and then, my friend, when darkness overspreads my eyes, and heaven and earth seem to dwell in my soul and absorb its power, like the form of a beloved mistress, then I often think with longing, Oh, would I could describe these conceptions, could impress upon paper all that is living so full and warm within me, that it might be the mirror of my soul, as my soul is the mirror of the infinite God!
The 21st of September is the International Day Of Peace, a day of global ceasefire and non-violence. It was initiated by the British film director Jeremy Gilley, who pursued his idea of establishing this day as an annual event since 1998 to the present day through his Peace One Day movement. After a lengthy and arduous journey on his part through the labyrinthine “official channels” of international politics, this project was finally officially adopted by Kofi Annan and the United Nations in 2001.
Let us support and work along with this powerful, imaginative and visionary figure, joining in his great initiative by commemorating this day as members of one world, united in the desire for peace, until a day becomes a week, a week a month, a month a year and one year forever. Although Jeremy Gilley does by no means lack either energy or the inspiration to fight this cause on his own, he incessantly emphasizes the significance of a wider public involvement and the need for every individual to contribute their share on the way to a more peaceful world. Being aware of the dynamic and mutually enhancing quality of “political activity” between individual catalysts and the general public, he endeavours to combine the energetic flow of his individual efforts with as many like-minded people as possible, thus creating a force greater than any one of them would present on their own. Peace can ultimately only be achieved by gathering and uniting the greatest number of active individuals possible, working collectively towards their common objective, and united by an express intent to abandon the “traditional” and outmoded ways of managing conflicts, whether in a domestic, national, international or global context.
Let us start “at home”, thinking over the quality of our interrelationships with our close neighbours and the Human race in general, analysing and trying to improve them, and eventually expanding the results of such findings to a global level. Let us consider the true reasons for destruction and conflicts that are simmering or raging in virtually all parts of this world - direct results of injustice and hatred, the root causes of which lie often closer to our doorstep than we might think. However, while remembering the victims of conflict and war all around the globe, as well as sympathising with them, we should not let ourselves be fooled by the relative “tranquillity” our Western societies mostly enjoy, but rather translate this privilege into a worldwide compassion with and active support for all those who are suffering or perishing at every moment and continuously from the unrelenting Old Testament principles of power and suppression, still dominating international social and political affairs.
After analysing the state of today’s world, and tired of only the “bad news” in the global media coverage, Jeremy Gilley set out to break this worldwide rule of violence, thus demonstrating to all those who deem themselves powerless to bring about change, how much one individual can achieve, if undeterred by the ubiquitous obstacles this world (on an institutional as well as individual level) holds in store for those who endeavour to pursue a “just cause”. Nevertheless he keeps emphasizing the significance of addressing and involving the world community, thus persistently linking the seeds he sows to a wider context, conscious of the fact that global shortcomings can only be addressed successfully in a global context and with a comprehensive approach in which all parties involved reach out to each other, regardless of their political, racial or social background. “Fighting for Peace” – a contradiction in itself? Not necessarily, as it might take more courage and “fighting spirit” to construct than to destroy, and furthermore a world of peace will only be brought about by first pulling down the walls of old thinking and old acting, which still survive to this day, in accordance with the Old Testament patterns of “possessing” and usurping at the cost of others. Let us start to work by uniting forces, creating a worldwide "Alliance Of Peace", not looking on, but proactively pursuing and demanding peace (as an inherent human right!), deliberately abandoning those archaic patterns of vengeance and counter-vengeance in favour of a new, more humble but nevertheless decisive way of tolerating and accepting the diverse ways of diverse societies, living under “one roof” within one Creation, and increasingly growing into a new global society, who are bound to co-exist in spite of (and ultimately speaking for the sake of) all differences they might display. Having travelled the places of anguish and pain in this world, Jeremy Gilley understands such differences, but is able to view and not lose out of sight the fundamental equality, lying at the heart of all cultures, religions and social contexts within the diverse global community he came to serve…
Let us become active and support this great initiative by any way we can, and this not just for "one day", but as an ongoing task. If there is to be a new “Golden Age” on earth one day, beyond the narrow limitations of today’s empty materialism, with the arts and culture thriving and all people living happily and harmoniously together as brothers and sisters, then it will have to be earned by every one of us by overcoming our inherent “Inertia”, I.e. laziness, which ultimately speaking is the source of all shortcomings, injustices and destructive tendencies in this world.
“If you build a house, you start with one brick. If we want to build peace, why not start with one day...and maybe that day has arrived.” JEREMY GILLEY
“Peace is not a status, but an emotion. All our actions are the result of feelings. How our children will treat their brothers and sisters in the future is our direct responsibility. The future lies in our hands. After times of dark, Rebirth will follow and new hope will come with the children. They are the chimes of the future, they bring the Light to this world." ZENO ROTH, Light Of The Morning (For the children of this world)
“This world is a unique gift, a garden of Eden for those who can see - who can perceive its beauty and whose view is not clouded with hatred towards others or the poison of self-destruction. It is a blooming paradise, which we are about to destroy and carelessly discard, abandoning it to the enemies of mankind. Do not follow those who came to destruct, but trust and support those who came to heal. Do not run after those who make shiny promises. They are false leaders whose delight lies in the suffering of this world. In fact, do not follow any one but the voice of your own true Self. And you will be amongst the ones to rescue paradise..."
In spite of the fact that ZENOLOGY II is not a new studio album, we have received an amazing reaction from Japan, including sales figures so far. Thank you for your faith and loyalty.
Here is Zeno Roth's own comment to you: After ZENOLOGY II and the re-releases of the first three ZENO albums, the next "official" studio album is on its way, to be released later this year or early next year. I would like to thank You all for Your faith and trust in ZENO over all these years. I am aware of the fact that we take, plainly speaking, too long for each album, which can be somewhat frustrating for all parties involved. All the more I feel honoured by this long-lasting belief and support, which is nothing I would ever take for granted.
(On the other hand: What is "Time" ? An illusionary construct our human mind fabricates in order to survive in a world of "was", "is" and "will be", of being born, living and dying, of consecutive "events" we wrongly deem ourselves part of - with "past", "present" and "future" as the darts we cling to in the absence of Eternity, which is the final goal of our Existence. So let us not attach too much significance to it. Time flies, like the bird in the sky, but it always will find a way home....)
HELP THE ANIMALS OF THIS WORLD AND RESTORE THE DIGNITY OF CREATION
In a world struggling to respect its Humans, it is no wonder that animals are suffering on a grand scale in all parts and all cultures of the world. Exploited and degraded, subject to human arbitrariness or mercy, the animals (and the way we treat them) are a telling reflection of how we perceive Creation and how we perceive ourselves. Rather than gratefully cherishing a Nature which allows us to be born, exist and grow, we carelessly discard more and more natural treasures, sacrificing the beauty of Creation to shortsighted materialistic ends. Animals are part of a Creation that we did not make, they can therefore - by definition - not be owned by us. They are "free" in the true sense of the word, part of the "wild" and yet our brothers and sisters, whom we are responsible for in a non-intrusive sense. No right on earth legitimizes us to keep them at our disposal, hunt them, kill them or eat them, all of which are unnecessary relics of prehistoric tribal patterns. Like our children, who are not in our possession, yet placed in our care, the animals of this world deserve to be looked after - once we have decided to intervene in the processes of Nature. Since we are (nowadays more than ever) in an unsettling position of strength over the natural dimension (which we are nonetheless part of), we are especially obliged to take care of the Nature's and animals' welfare - as a legacy of our own past as well as the only safeguard for our future in this world. Only if we come to terms with ourselves as complete Beings in a complete Universe, made of Spirit AND Matter, will we be able to embrace the "world" as a whole and take steps to promote its recovery in an entire way, including ourselves. The more we understand - and respect - the true nature of our Selves, the more respect will we gain for "other" life-forms.
Help to restore the Dignity of Creation by facing up to our historic responsibility in a true and full sense. Let us compensate for the pain we have inflicted on the animals of this world by standing up against animal cruelty or abuse in any shape or form today. Enough blood has been spilt, enough anguish heaped onto the surface of this Earth; it is time for us to return to our roots as spiritual entities in the womb of Creation, coming to understand the truth of our existence in an ENTIRE way. Let us dissolve the dark cloud spread around the globe during our irresponsible maltreatment of the most innocent products of Creation... This can only take place by way of redemption, through a deep and fundamental realization of what we are and what Creation represents in relation to ourselves. - "Know thyself". Stop torturing your own true Self by maltreating Creation - as we and Creation are One!
We live in a world of both, Justice and Injustice. Let us work together to strengthen and increase the proportion of global welfare by contributing some of our energy to reduce the shortcomings and wrongs in this world. Let us not expect perfection in any of these matters, as global problems are, by their very nature, not able to be solved by individuals. They are tasks, requiring collection of complex energies in order to tackle complex affairs on a large scale and from all possible angles. In this sense the inadequacies of the world are a catalyst of Human Unity. In any case, to not undertake anything for lack of a chance of instantaneous completion is a classic cover up for every day human inertia. What this adds up to is that no person, however small or great, is as helpless as some might want us to believe. In contributing little pieces from our Selves, we can help to create a "jigsaw puzzle" of individual energies that eventually may add up to a powerful whole of global recovery towards MORE Justice, Truth and Peace...
